Your Rights as a Health Care Consumer in Texas
Under Texas Health & Safety Code §181.105 (HB 4224, effective Sept. 1, 2025), health
care providers must provide information on accessing records, contacting licensing
authorities, and filing complaints. These protections support transparency, consumer
rights, and your right to health information.
Access to Your Health Records
You may request a copy of your records at any time. Submit a written request including:
Full Name, Date of Birth, Contact Information, and Description of Requested Records.
Requests are processed in accordance with state and federal law.
